Thank you for your interest in the Faith Formation Ministries at St. Mary’s Church. This ministry involves many people and joins together the cultures within our faith community.
Catholic faith formation classes are offered to assist parents in instructing their children in the faith of the Catholic Church and to develop a living faith community among our members. These classes are integrated into the daily schedule of our parish school, and held weekly for students attending public schools.
All students should attend classes every year beginning in First Grade in order to develop a more complete understanding of our faith and to be an active part of our parish community. Students are prepared to receive First Reconciliation and First Communion during second grade. The Rite of Christian Initiation for Children, RCIC, is offered to students in grades 5-12 who have not yet received First Reconciliation and First Communion. Most classes have assistants for the children if English is their second language to further the development of the appropriate vocabulary.
Confirmation preparation is a two-year class, and the sacrament is typically celebrated during the student’s 7th or 8th grade year. Confirmation preparation requires involvement in service work and extra meetings in addition to the doctrinal studies classes.
Yearly fees for registered and attending members of the parish are $65.00 for one child, $85.00 for two or more siblings, and should be paid at the time of registration. The yearly fees for families not members of St. Mary’s Parish are $130 for one child, and $170 for two or more siblings. Read the church bulletin each week for information regarding meetings and schedules. Please contact Michael Crotteau at the Parish Office for more information on how to register your children for the program.
